So i need to use this more

So yeah, i know i said i was going to post more, and i will. I have decided to post at least once a week from now on.
Minor stuff, dumb stuff, whatever stuff.
More soon from my recent trips for work, and more coming up for both work trips as well as a nice road trip vacation down through North Carolina, Delware, Maryland Virginia and Pennsylvania! but not all in that order.
Another fun thing, i bought a new domain name and plan on building a tech blog related to my work and the Epicor product, both as a resource and as a way to market myself as a brand. Hope it turns out well, my plan is to unveil it sometime in mid-september…
Ups and Downs…
So, about a month ago, I woke up with a sore foot. There was absolutely no reason for me to have the sore foot.
While I am clumsy or careless sometimes and do injure myself quite often because of that, I always at least know how or why I get the injury I do, and I am more than happy to relay whatever that funny story might be.
Well, there was no funny story, I just woke up and my foot was sore. So I took some Advil and went about my day at work, sitting in my office, getting up 2 or 3 times to get lunch, a beverage, play with the cats, or empty the liquid cargo hold.
Then the next day, wow, it hurt, I could barely walk so much it hurt, so I tried to stay off it as much as possible and I did. Then eventually my girlfriend insisted that I spend the day on the couch and not move at all, keeping my foot elevated. I did this like a good little soldier, even though it’s against anything and everything in my nature to do. I can’t stand sitting around when there are things I could and should be doing.
So it still hurt but not as much, so i went to the dr to get it checked out. He couldn’t find anything structurally wrong after examining me and some x-rays.
He decided to give me a set of inserts to wear in my sneakers and they totally fixed my issues.
Now i just need to wear my sneakers more often instead of being barefoot or wearing other stuff for a majority of time, annoying but doable.
The Perfect Crime
Posted by nedster in Entertainment, Fun, Personal on 2011/09/08
What is my perfect crime? I break into Tiffany’s at midnight. Do I go for the vault? No. I go for the chandelier; it’s priceless. As I’m taking it down, a woman catches me. She tells me to stop. It’s her father’s business. She’s Tiffany. I say no. We make love all night. In the morning the cops come and I escape in one of their uniforms. I tell her to meet me in Mexico but I go to Canada. I don’t trust her. Besides, I love the cold. Thirty years later I get a postcard. I have a son. And he’s the Chief of Police. This is where the story gets interesting: I tell Tiffany to meet me in Paris by the Trocadero. She’s been waiting for me all these years. She’s never taken another lover. I don’t care. I don’t show up. I go to Berlin. That’s where I stashed the chandelier.
See? Perfect crime…
but in reality that’s a statement from an episode of the Office and it’s a quote from good ol’ Dwight.
So I haven’t used this blog in awhile and a whole lot of things and life have been going on, but I am gonna get back into this and start using this place for what it can be used for, all kinds of opinions, events and stories about what is going on in my life and it’s changes.
So neat!!!

The Death of Edward(Ned) Cleary
Posted by nedster in Annoucements on 2010/07/09
The death took place recently of Edward (Ned) Cleary on July 2, 2010.
He died peacefully at his home in Derrygore Terrace, Enniskillen.
Born on January 17, 1932 in Mill Street, he was the fourth child of six born to Christopher and Margaret Cleary.
He was educated in the Convent and Christian Brothers’ schools until the age of 14.
He started his working career as a porter with the GNR and consequently has various jobs including the construction of the Erne Hospital, the Forestry, dredging in Lough Erne (where he discovered an artefact, now on display in Enniskillen Castle Museum), and finally 20 years in Unipork where he retired early due to ill health.
He made life long friends in all aspects of his life.
He shared an interest in music with his sister Barbara, who bought him many of his large record collection.
He had a keen interest in sport, particularly football. He would train with his brother Francy and friends in Mill Street, running up to six miles a night. In 1953 he joined Enniskillen Rangers with Francy where they went on to win several trophies.
He was also a fine darts player, winning many turkeys for Christmas dinner.
In 1958 he married Agnes Steele, also from Mill Street. They had five children, Mary, Christopher, twins Eamonn and Michael and Joseph.
He loved art and was an excellent painter, most of his work being of his native Enniskillen. He was a member of the Erne Art Group at Westbridge House where he enjoyed the company of his friends.
He also enjoyed reading, using that knowledge in his love of quizzes.
He was a most sociable man and loved meeting people. He liked nothing more than conversing or sharing stories with family or friends, never happier than in his garden on a fine summer’s day.
He was a lifelong Manchester United fan and made several trips to Old Trafford with family members.
Ned’s Funeral Mass took place in St. Michael’s, Enniskillen on July 4. It was celebrated by Mgr. J. McGuinness. The beautiful music and singing was by Helen Hamill. Ned’s sister, sister-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, nieces and nephews contributed to the Liturgy of the Mass. Ned had a very strong faith that helped him through the bad times during his illness. He would have appreciated the beautiful Mass,
The funeral arrangements were carried out by John McKeegan, funeral director, Enniskillen.
Ned is survived by his beloved wife Agnes, children Mary, Christopher, Eamonn, Michael and Joseph, daughters-in-law Lyn and Michelle, son-in-law Gordon, brother Francy (Carlow), sister Barbara (Manchester), sisters-in-law Dolores, Anne, Teresa and Evelyn, brothers-in-law Bob, Ken and Charlie, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers Jimmy, Gerry and Greggy.
Ned was regarded as a wonderful man who will be missed by all his family and friends.
For the First Time… In a Long Time…
Here I am, sitting at the airport waiting for my flight. I have not been on a plane in almost a year and a half at this point, which seems weird considering I used to be on a flight 2-3 times a week at a minimum. The last time I was on a plane it was on my trip to Fantasy Camp for a vacation, so if we skip that trip it would be almost a full 2 years since I have been on a plane for work.
Logan airport hasn’t changed much, although the construction that was going on in Central Parking for over 2 years appears to be finally completed so the whole garage is now accessible for parking, and surprisingly, the cost to park a car has only increased by $2 a day in the past 2 years.
The ads are new and there is a Jerry Remy’s Sports Bar and Grill in Terminal C, but the kiosks and everything are still the same, and the same escalator is still not working to get down from the skyway to the concourse to check in. I still think it’s a conspiracy by the repair companies to keep them busy, same as with the T, fix them just enough to work for a bit and then break again.
Same carpets, same white rocking chairs, same vinyl rows of seats. It feels good to be back. Only trouble is that I have lost my frequent flyer status, so no free upgrade and I needed to wait in the standard security line, unlike in the past where I was able to take the super special speedy line.
I did notice one change though, what used to be the candy and nut stand halfway down the ramp to the gates is now some kind of health food stand with dried fruits and fruit juices. Yay?
I think the shoeshine guy was the same guy, although he was falling asleep and kept doing the head bob. You know the one, head resting on a hand and then you fall asleep so it slips off and then you wake up because of the jerking motion of your head falling, then you look around suspiciously to see if anyone noticed and then go back to snoozing, then repeat over and over again.
I have missed this, and while there is not much currently scheduled, I certainly hope that there is a lot more of this to come. The job looks very promising and I think this is going to end up leading to a whole lot of good things in terms of travel, professional life and personal life.
Might Be The Funniest Spam Ever…
Below is a picture of the text of a SPAM email that came to my spam folder today. I like to peruse through my spam filter once in awhile to see what kind of crap is going through it… this one is a gem… it’s a new spin on the whole lottery/inheritance type of scam coming out of foreign countries. You get $800K for simply paying the $126 wire charge fees.
The funniest part of this entire thing, is that they are trying to convince you that the email is coming from the FBI as part of a current investigation.
I totally believe it, I mean, why wouldn’t a person who works at a bank or at the FBI be using a hotmail.com email address when notifying and dealing with transactions well in excess of half a million bucks?
I honestly wonder exactly how gullible some people must be to actually fall for these scams. I put the email into a picture so that I don’t end up with a ton of stupid search engine results from the content of the email.

So I am in the process of cleaning out my MySpace account to shut it down, and realized I had almost 200 blog entries over there… YIKES… so I am sorting through those in order to see what I want to migrate over to hear…
One thing that is really annoying though, no way to export a MySpace blog…
Season Preview: Providence Sox

Wahoo! Sports
This is the eleventh and final preview and it’s going to trip you out, man. Eleven is a great number. My craps shooting amigos will know that 11 is probably the best number at the table. It’s a winner on the come out but doesn’t sweep the line after the point is made. Everybody hollers out “Yo’leven”. That alone is enough to make 11 my favorite number, but there’s more.
I was born at 11:11 p.m. and all my life I’ve found myself compelled to look at the clock at exactly 11:11. Now I figured there’s a logic explanation for this. 11:11 is pretty memorable, especially on digital clocks, and probably I look at the clock all the time but consciously take note when it’s 11:11. Makes sense. You ever heard of this cat Uri Geller? He’s a fake psychic. Here’s a note from his website:
I started experiencing this rather bizarre occurrence when I was forty years old, at first I thought they were coincidences, I would stand with my back to a digital clock and something made me turn around and I would notice that the time would be 11:11. These incidents intensified I would be checked into hotel rooms on floor 11 room 1111. I started noticing these digits on computers, microwave ovens, cars, documents, etc. I decided to write about it on my website. I was immediately inundated by hundreds of emails from all around the world. Individuals were telling me their own 11:11 stories, almost always saying ‘I thought it only happened to me.’ It is difficult for me to decipher what this is all about but my intuition tells me its positive.
Weird, huh? Same experience. Turns out 11 is what numerologists call a master number. This is a powerful number for numerologists. It’s closely associated from psychics. I’ve always been a little bit psychic. In fact, from the time I was about 5 years old I had dreams about airplanes crashing. One morning I woke up very early, before the alarm went off, mechanically went to the tv as if compelled, turned it on and watched a plane swoop into the WTC. It was like watching a replay of the dream I’d had all my life. September 11. 9-11. Or 9+1+1=11. Trippy man. Real trippy.
So given this is my 11th preview, I figure this one is going to be highly prescient. I remember previewing this team early on and being unimpressed but the second impression has been more favorable. Hanley Ramirez is a do everything bona fide fantasy star. Morneau and Holliday have an all star track record. Holliday of course basks in the reflected glory of Fat Albert. Chase Headley and Howie Kendrick are both value picks that will contribute with Headley running a lot early on and Kendrick doing what everybody has always expected he would when healthy. Cameron Maybin is a perpetual waiting to break out guy and you add in Podsednik this is a team that will steal a lot of bases, score a lot of runs and pound the ball. There are 7 guys hitting over .300 so far this year and one hitting over .400 (Podsednik). Expect the averages to deflate a bit, but this team will be solid on the offensive side.
I really like the deal to pick up Tim Lincecum. He’s the kind of guy that, given two starts in a week, can pretty much dominate four categories. Randy Wells is an underrated compliment to Lincecum. There are too many pitchers here that don’t do enough to really help, though. Don’t expect Mike Pelfry to maintain his hot start. Jared Weaver seems to be legitimate, but I tend to wonder. Floyd, Aceves and Sean Marshall are taking up roster space. Carl Pavano remains Carl Pavano. That leave just Leo Nunez down there in the pen doing anything worthwhile and that will likely need to be addressed.
Prediction? You know I’d like to say 11th. Planned on it, in fact. But this team is a bit better than that. I think they’ll be in striking distance but just miss the playoffs.
That’s a wrap, Jacks. Have a great year everybody.
Season Preview: Seattle Vaportrails
By Ryan A. Gold
Wahoo! Sports
By harsh necessity, Atlas supports the broad sky
on his head and unwearying arms,
at the earth’s limits, near the clear voiced Hesperides,
for his is the doom decreed for him
by Zeus the counselor.
The poet Hesiod wrote these lines about the Titan, Atlas, about two thousand years ago. Atlas fought with the Titans against the Olympians and when the Titans went down on a Zeus walk off home run, Zeus condemned him to hold up the heavens for all eternity. It’s unclear just what Albert Pujols did to deserve a similar fate, but he’ll be asked to hold up what chances the Vapes, one of FBB’s more successful franchise, will have this season. Now if that’s not a torturous segue, I don’t know what is, but hey this is my tenth one of these so cut me some slack.
It’s tough to tell what’s going on with the Vaportrails this year. It started with the drafting of Joe Nathan, an uncharacteristic gaff. Aaron Hill, the only second baseman on the roster, has been a ghostly inhabitant at the keystone with no replacement as he languishes on the DL. Bedard and Lidge currently occupy the DL spots but there’s no guarantee either will be contributors this year. Chone Figgins is off to a slow start. Ellsbury is nicked up. The bullpen features two shaky closers in Ryan Franklin and David Aardsma while Jose Mijares gives the Trails yet another player on the DL.
There are some nice pieces here. Vlad Guerrero was a shrewd pick and will probably contribute well above his 17th round draft slot. The roster is really outfield heavy with Victorino, Hawpe, Ludwick and Byrd all fighting for playing time. Danny Haren should provide solid numbers, at least through July, and Chris Carpenter is a true ace. Yovanni Gallardo has the stuff to be a third ace in this hand but he’s off to a slow start so far.
Buehrle and Lackey bring similar skill sets but the innings eater type sometimes can be more of a difference maker on the real diamond than in this game.
And yet, in spite of all the Vapes came roaring out of the gate and blew out the Dish in week one. Which brings us around to Pujols once again, who, like our friend Atlas, hoisted the team on his shoulders hitting more than half the home runs for the week, driving in a third of the team’s runs and scoring a quarter of them. As long as he’s around and healthy, the Vapes will be dangerous in any given week.
I just don’t think a one man team gets it done in this year’s league though and I’m not seeing enough in the complimentary players to be able to recommend Cloudie’s boys this year.
Prediction: Just miss the playoffs
